NABL currently conducts following Training Courses:

NABL Assessor Training

National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories seeks experts with technical knowledge and current experience of working in a laboratory to train them as it's Technical Assessors to conduct on site assessment of laboratories that perform testing and calibration.

NABL accredits testing and calibration laboratories that conduct test(s) / perform calibration(s) for a specified scope. Competence of laboratories is determined in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 "General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories" by conducting on site assessments by Lead Assessors and Technical Assessors.

Assessors must be experienced in both management and operation of testing & calibration laboratories and be technically knowledgeable in one or more areas of testing and calibration. The criteria for the selection of experts / assessors for NABL is based on following :

1. Extensive experience in performing testing and calibration.
2. Experience in laboratory management and operations:
a. Current responsibilities for day to day management of testing and / or calibration.
b. Development and implementation of laboratory quality assurance procedure.
3. Communication skills.
4. Related professional activities including publication of technical papers in the testing or calibration, standards development, and participation in conducting and / or coordinating proficiency programmes.
5. Master Degree in Science or Bachelor Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years experience.

NABL accords accreditation to the Testing Laboratories in the fields of science and technology like Biological, Chemical, Electrical, Electronics, Fluid Flow, Mechanical, Non-Destructive, Photometric, Radiology, Clinical, Forensic, Nuclear Medicine and to the Calibration Laboratories; in the field of Electro-Technical, Fluid Flow, Mechanical, Radiological, Thermal and Optical measurements. Experts having expertise in any of these fields is welcome. Those interested should send the bio-data in prescribed format. Selection of assessors will be based on information provided by expert and subsequent personal interaction, if required.

NABL Assessor Training course is a 5-day residential training programme. The training curriculum is based on APLAC Guidelines for Training Courses for Assessors.

Those who complete this course would be qualified to conduct internal audit of their own laboratories and NABL may enroll them as NABL - Assessors provided they have qualified in the examination which NABL conducts at the end of the course. NABL empanels only those experts who sign a contract with NABL.

NABL Assessors are paid an Honorarium and are reimbursed for travel expenses for conducting assessments.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

The above training courses are residential and the course fee include charges for course material, boarding, lodging etc. The participants are required to report in the evening before the course starts.

Laboratory Quality System, Management & Internal Audit Training

NABL has decided to discontinue the conduct of training programme on Laboratory Quality Management System and Internal Audit. However the following training institutes are independently conducting the training programmes for laboratories. It may please be noted that NABL is not involved in design or conduct of their training courses. The laboratories may directly contact these training institutes for their training schedules.
