NABL currently conducts following Training Courses:
(a) NABL ISO/IEC 17025 Assessor's Training Course
(b) NABL ISO 15189 Assessor's Training Course
National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories seeks experts with technical knowledge and current experience of working in a laboratory to train them as it's Technical Assessors to conduct on site assessment of laboratories that perform testing and calibration.
The criteria for the selection of experts/assessors for NABL is based on the following:
(i) Qualification and Experience Requirements of Assessors
For becoming NABL assessor for testing and calibration laboratories (ISO/IEC 17025), the minimum educational qualification requirements are a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology or a Master’s degree in Science. The experience requirements are a minimum of five years work experience in the relevant field of testing/ calibration, at supervisory level and above.
The Assessors for medical laboratories (ISO 15189) are required to be postgraduate in relevant medical fields or Ph.D. in relevant scientific fields with work experience at supervisory level and above for a minimum of five years.
(ii) Other important aspects considered for selection are:
1. Extensive experience in performing testing and calibration.
2. Experience in laboratory management and operations:
a. Current responsibilities for day to day management of testing and / or calibration.
b. Development and implementation of laboratory quality assurance procedure.
3. A high degree of communication skills, both oral and written.
4. Related professional activities including publication of technical papers in the testing or calibration, standards development and participation in conducting and / or coordinating proficiency programmes.
(iii) Preferred Age: 35 to 55 years
How to apply?
Experts having expertise in any of fields of testing, calibration or medical are welcome to become Assessors. Interested candidates meeting the 'Criteria for selection' should send the detailed bio-data in MS word to NABL at training@nabl-india.org.
Please note that the above course is not an open course. The selection for the candidates for the training of Assessors shall be done by NABL based on its current / anticipated requirements in specific fields / facilities and availability of trained assessors in its pool. The selection of participants is at the sole discretion of NABL. Only the selected participants will be communicated with further details like course fees, venue, accommodation etc.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
NABL Assessor Training course is a 5-day residential training programme. The training curriculum is based on APLAC & ILAC Guidelines for Training Courses for Assessors. Those who complete this course, NABL may enroll them as NABL - Assessors provided they have qualified in the examination which NABL conducts at the end of the course. NABL empanels only those experts who sign a contract with NABL.
The above training courses are residential and the course fee include charges for course material, boarding, lodging etc. The participants are required to report in the evening before the course starts.

LABORATORY QUALITY SYSTEM, MANAGEMENT AND INTERNAL AUDIT TRAINING

NABL has decided to discontinue the conduct of training programme on Laboratory Quality Management System and Internal Audit. However the following training institutes are independently conducting the training programmes for laboratories. It may please be noted that NABL is not involved in design or conduct of their training courses. The laboratories may directly contact these training institutes for their training schedules.
